We now return you to your regularly scheduled Monday

Welcome to Monday, kiddos ๐Ÿ™‚ Wanna hear the good news? It’s our last week before Winter break!! Huzzah!

Learning Target: Students will review major concepts we have covered throughout the semester in preparation for their final exam.

Activator: As today is our review day, we will start by watching whatever video you guys would like to from the blog. Maybe two, if I’m feeling nice ๐Ÿ™‚

So, my lovely students, I am excited to tell you that today is our LAST MONDAY together! That means, first block, you will never again get the pleasure of screaming “ROACH!” and watching me panic…and third block, you will never see me scream at you to please, please, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE QUIET FOR TEN SECONDS WHILE I TELL YOU WHAT TO DO, and fourth block, you will never have another Monday of refrigerators. You know, now that I think about it, I’m kind of sad this is our last Monday together ๐Ÿ™ I’ll miss all-a-y’all!

So let’s have a party! Whatcha think? I’ll pass around a signup sheet to see what everyone can bring for tomorrow. If you wanna and are able to bring something, we will happily partake, but if you can’t it’s no big worry ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve emptied out the candy machine and will be spending the money on par-tay stuff for everyone to enjoy!

Also on the agenda for today? Handing back ALL your work! I have a whole filing cabinet FULL of your papers from the entire semester, tests, everything else ๐Ÿ™‚ If you DON’T want your stuff back, please don’t take it and then throw it out – I will keep it as artifacts of student work. Just let me know when I call your name that you don’t want your stuff.

And finally, we took some time to review any and everything you guys are confused about or want to see again. Our final exam is cumulative, but it is skills based, rather than content based. That means that I won’t ask you what act Julius Caesar was stabbed in (*waits patiently for you to yell “ACT III!”*) and I won’t ask you who wrote “There Will Come Soft Rains” (*more waiting for “RAY BRADBURY!”*) but I willย ask you to read a selection and answer reading comprehension questions, to tell me which sentence has an error in it, to identify persuasive appeals or figurative language, that sort of thing.

You know what’s cool? If you want to review any of this stuff from home, it’s all right here on the blog. If you just get the sudden desire to go back through and watch Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo again, be my guest ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s all here for your amusement!

Don’t forget, party tomorrow! And your final exams are Wednesday and Thursday, so study hard and I’ll see you guys then!
