Opening Session
Welcome to our next book! Let’s start off the unit with a song:

And after listening to the song, let’s talk a little bit about it. What do you know about war? What is it really like? What’s it like compared to how it’s portrayed in movies or on TV?

I’ll pass out copies of The Things They Carried for you to read in class, as well as packets that you’ll be completing over the next two weeks of class. This will be mostly¬†independent work.

Work Session
You will have the entire work session to work on your The Things They Carried packet! Make sure you are answering questions in complete sentences and including parenthetical citations with your evidence!
