World Lit: Things Fall Apart, Day 2

Hello all! I’m not here today because I’m at a doctor’s appointment for my daughter 🙂

Standard: ELAGSE9-10RL2 Determine a theme or central idea of text and closely analyze its development over the course of the text, including how it emerges and is shaped and refined by specific details; provide an objective summary of the text.

Learning Target: I can analyze and objectively summarize a portion of Things Fall Apart.

Opening Session: Sub attendance!

Work Session: After completing your 20 minutes of independent reading, I want you to grab your copy of Things Fall Apart and read chapters 3 and 4, page 16-35. You can read alone or with your group, whatever you would like. When you’re finished, I would like each person to write and turn in a 7 Sentence Summary of what happened in the book today.

When you finish, grab your Springboards and complete activity 3.5, Father and Son, on page 228.

Closing Session: Please thank the sub and straighten the room!
