  • ELAGSE9-10RL2 Determine a theme or central idea of text and closely analyze its development over the course of the text, including how it emerges and is shaped and refined by specific details; provide an objective summary of the text.
  • LAGSE9-10RL1 Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

Learning Target:  I will complete my Julius Caesar project by the end of the class period today.

Opening Session: This is a modern reimagining of Act II scene i of Julius Caesar, and it’s basically the coolest thing I’ve ever seen and I’m totally obsessed with it now.

Work Session: For your entire work session today, you guys will be working on your Caesar projects. I’ll come around and check in with each of you to make sure you can get your entire project finished by the end of class!!

You guys have the resources the school has to offer at your disposal – I have art supplies, paper, etc., and you can go to the media center for craft paper or similar things. I can also send 5 students at a time to work on the computers in the media center if need be. We will check in throughout class, and as your TOTD we will make sure you’re good to go to turn your project in!

Closing Session: Turn in your project and a 1-sentence reflection – how did you feel about this project? What grade do you think you earned?

Assessment: Projects will be graded

Differentiation: Process, product, interest, learning style (student choice in project parameters); process (altered length/quotes requirement as needed).
